Beginner Pilates Provides Foundational Technique

Pilates is a form of mind-body exercise, originally named Contrology. It was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s and has evolved to become the pre-eminent exercise choice for whole-body strength, flexibility and movement control with a holistic focus.

Made popular by celebrities and dancers and preferred by professional athletes for rehabilitation, Pilates is now accessible as a mainstream exercise program.

Should I start with Reformer Pilates or Beginner Pilates?

It’s ultimately up to you! Some students enjoy starting with beginner Pilates because it can be easier to learn the techniques without having to navigate the Reformer machine. However, with our introductory courses, you can start with either type of class.

I am new to Pilates and exercise, how do you recommend I get started?

We offer introductory packages for both Reformer and beginner pilates in Perth and Leederville. We recommend a Pilates Studio session with one of our instructors, first. They can then guide you to one of our Reformer Fundamentals classes.

Can I come to Pilates class if I have an injury?

We require clearance from your GP or physiotherapist before attending a Pilates class. If you’ve had an injury, your physiotherapist can perform a class screening or guide you through a rehab session before attending Pilates.
