Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy), Master of Clinical Physiotherapy in Continence and Pelvic Health
Pelvic Health encompasses the entire pelvic area and surrounding musculature. As Pelvic Health Physiotherapists we are trained to specifically assess, treat and manage issues including bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain. Physiotherapy is considered first line conservative treatment in the management of pelvic floor dysfunctions.
Pelvic health physiotherapy should be considered as part of a multidisciplinary team approach in the management of these conditions and achieving better patient outcomes and quality of life. Women’s/Pelvic Physiotherapists also play a role in assisting antenatal patients in maintaining a healthy and comfortable pregnancy, as well as providing postnatal care to ensure optimal recovery and empowering these women to achieve their goals.
