Movement and exercise therapy can be used for rehab or “prehab”, to prevent inefficient or faulty movement habits that cause neck and back pain, poor posture, or musculoskeletal injury. Balance and mobility are key parts of a healthy life and preventing injury as we get older. We assist our clients of varying ages and abilities to manage pain, prevent or recover from injury, and lead an active lifestyle that promotes health and well-being.

Why Balance Matters
Prevent Injury
At any age, but particularly for older adults, falling can be problematic and lead to other health complications. Having good balance helps prevent falls and subsequent injury.
Improve Mobility
The exercises we use in balance classes help improve your range of motion and address joint stiffness. Increasing your mobility helps make daily activities easier to perform.
Maintain Health
Balance is a trainable skill that involves cooperation from multiple systems in the body. Improving your balance can improve your overall health.
Building Your Treatment Plan
Enjoy a personalised program
1
Learn the basics
Before getting started, you’ll meet with your physiotherapist for a balance assessment. We’ll work through some exercises to measure your current abilities and develop a treatment plan based on your goals. Then, we’ll schedule your first few balance classes in South Perth.
2
Follow Your Program
We typically recommend balance classes 2 to 3 times a week for optimal results. During each session, you’ll work with your physiotherapist to complete the exercises. We’ll adjust your program as needed based on your progress. You can also sign up for private sessions if you’d like even more tailored instruction.
3
Enjoy the Results
While most of our students start in a targeted program that lasts few a weeks, it’s good to plan for ongoing balance training. Attending classes regularly can help you maintain mobility and function as you age and maintain the results achieved in your program.
How to Prepare
What to Bring

You’ll want to wear clothes and supportive shoes that allow you to move freely and comfortably navigate the exercises.
A Can-Do Attitude
Balance classes can challenge us to engage muscles we rarely use. Come prepared to embrace that challenge!
